Sports physiotherapy

Sports injury treatment that looks beyond a quick return.

Whether your injury is acute or has been holding you back for some time, a sports injury can interrupt much more than a training plan. At The Saltdean Physio, the aim is to understand the injury, settle symptoms where appropriate, rebuild capacity and help you return to the demands of your sport with confidence.

Acute and persistent sports injuries

Assessment considers the mechanism of injury, current symptoms, strength, movement, training load and your target activity. This helps us understand both a fresh injury and a problem that has persisted or keeps returning. Rehabilitation can then progress from comfortable daily movement towards sport-specific loading, changes of direction, impact or endurance as relevant.

Recovery without false promises

Every injury recovers differently. A sensible return is based on symptoms, function and the demands ahead rather than a guaranteed timescale. If the findings suggest another opinion or investigation would be useful, that can be discussed clearly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book after a fresh injury?

Yes, provided there is no urgent concern. Seek urgent medical care for a suspected fracture, severe swelling or deformity, inability to use the limb, or other serious symptoms.

Do I have to stop all training?

Not necessarily. Your plan may include adapting activity while rehabilitation progresses, but this depends on the injury and your symptoms.
